Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the Audit Authority

On 12 June 2026, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Audit Authority.

The Audit Authority was established in 2011 as an independent audit body responsible for auditing programmes and projects funded by the European Union. From the first audits of pre-accession assistance, through the IPARD Programme and the EU Solidarity Fund, to our new responsibilities under the Reform and Growth Facility, the scope of our work has expanded over the years in line with the development of the European regulatory framework and the evolution of the European Union’s financial assistance instruments.

The development of the Audit Authority has been built on mutual respect, trust and commitment, as well as on the continuous strengthening of professional capacities, the enhancement of audit methodology and the improvement of audit quality. At the same time, cooperation with the European Commission, other audit authorities and the wider professional community, together with active participation in numerous initiatives and professional networks in Serbia and abroad, has enabled us to exchange knowledge and experience, keep pace with developments in audit practice and continuously strengthen our professional expertise. As a result, we have built a reputation as a professional, independent and credible audit authority that performs its responsibilities in accordance with the highest international auditing standards.

This anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on our achievements and to express our gratitude to all current and former employees whose knowledge, integrity and dedication have contributed to the development of the Audit Authority. At the same time, it is an opportunity to look ahead to the future challenges during and after Serbia’s accession to the European Union, particularly in the area of auditing Cohesion Policy funds.
